A couple of months ago, I did an Etsy search for belly butters, bars, and oils, and anything else that could soothe the terrible itching I was experiencing on my expanding belly.  The result was a list of about 200 items claiming to ease my discomfort and prevent stretch marks.  Since all of these products are handmade, there aren’t many reviews for them and therefore there really wasn’t any way for me to tell which ones really worked.  I was overwhelmed and I didn’t want to spend money on a product I wasn’t sure about, so I didn’t end up getting anything at all.

Something had to be done!  I decided to try to test as many of the products as I could and let you all know which ones are great and which ones can be skipped.  I contacted many of the sellers and several of them agreed to participate.  Many of them even agreed to giveaways, which I know will please many of you itching and stretching mamas!

My hope is to inform all of you of the best products on Etsy so more of you are willing to go handmade and support Etsy sellers.  I think it’s important to value and teach our children to value handcrafted items.  These are real people working very hard to create something for us and they need our money much more than large corporations.  Plus, it is just a much more pleasant experience to buy from a real person.  I’ve personally made many friends just through Etsy conversations when I’m buying something.

I will be posting reviews for each of the products I test in a series.  As I post them, I will link here so check this page each week for more reviews and giveaways.  When I’ve tested all the products, I will post a list of my favorites.

Here is what we have so far:
